Data Management in Biodiversity and Environmental Science

Organisation: NFDI4Biodiversity, GfÖ Macroecology specialist group, GfÖ Biogeography specialist group, GFBio, ZMT, iDiv, Leipzig University, Philipps-University of Marburg

This workshop offers comprehensive as well as practical insights into research data management in biodiversity and environmental science. The 4 h workshop mainly aims at PhD students and Early Career Researchers. Participants will gain valuable knowledge on the effective publication of data in repositories, the development of data management plans (DMP), handling spatial data and data standards, exploring common data formats, and a dive into taxonomic data integration.

This event provides an unique opportunity for attendees to enhance their skills in managing and integrating biological data, fostering collaboration, and facilitating knowledge exchange within the scientific community.

This event is a pre-meeting workshop for the joint meeting of the GfÖ Biogeography specialist group and the GfÖ Macroecology specialist group “Artificial Intelligence in Biogeography and Macroecology” Participants can register for both the meeting and the workshop, or only for the workshop. The workshop is free of charge, but if you want to attend the meeting, there is a participation fee.
